He expertly manages a busy urology clinic, oversees resident training, and is actively involved in academic and administrative roles within the field.
- Surgical Expertise:
- Perform major open, endoscopic, and laparoscopic urological surgeries, including complex procedures for stones and tumors
- Conduct basic endoscopic procedures such as cystoscopies, ureteric stent insertions, ureteroscopy, and Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP)
- Oversee and perform Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) surgeries
- Clinical Duties:
- Operate the Urology Clinic multiple times a week, managing and evaluating 35-50 patients per day.
- Perform surgeries and provide supervision for residents in the operating room on a regular basis.
- Manage patient care in both ward and ICU settings on a daily basis
- Academic and Professional Engagement:
- Participate in weekly Uro-oncology and Nephro-urology meetings, fortnightly Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) conferences, academic lectures, Journal Club meetings, and monthly PAUS meetings
- Organize and facilitate urology seminars and conferences
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Oversee the consultant urological surgery rota
- Supervise emergency room (ER) patients, including preoperative management, surgical planning, and postoperative care in the ICU and wards
- Work Schedule:
- Dedicate approximately 60 hours per week to clinical practice and research activities
